Missing someone sucks.
It’s even more shitty if it’s not reciprocated. And then what? It’s not like you were ever together! So you feel as though you don’t even have an excuse to feel sad. At least if you were in a relationship, you could say “I’m feeling depressed because we broke up.” But, you were never together. So what are you supposed to say? “I’m feeling depressed because this guy who I might have had a chance with, who I thought I had potential with turns out not to like me? I misread his signs, and I’m sad” just doesn’t sound very valid to feel what I’m feeling.
